Triund Trek is one of the most popular treks to go over a weekend from Delhi and Chandigarh. With breathtaking views of the Kangra valley and the snow-covered Dhauladhar ranges, it is also very picturesque.
Mcleodganj to Triund 2800 mtrs, 9 kms gradual trek. The trek offer panoramic views Bhagsu village, Mcleodganj, and Dharamsala valley. The trek is walk through the mixed forest of oak, rhododendron and deoder trees and moderate nature. Triund is a large land of green grass and pasture like. One can see the mighty Dhauladhar ranges just above the eyes. This is the base camp and acclimatization point for trekkers climbing the Inderahara pass. The entire trek is most charming, enjoyable and challenging. The last stretch is tiring which require skill to climb.
Itinerary :
Day 01: Mcleodganj – Triund (2875m) Trek/9 km
It is a beautiful walk through mixed forests of deodar, oak and rhododendron. Triund is situated on a ridge with a beautiful view of whole Kangra valley on one side and Dhauladhar mountain range on the other. Night stay in a tents or private guest houses.
Day 2: Triund – Mcleodganj (2875m) Trek/9 km
Follow the same route on the way back or a different one from Triund going over a grassy meadow and descend down to Bhagsu Nag and then to Mcleodganj.
